The STIHL BR500 blowers are exceptionally quiet with good blowing performance for cleaning large areas.
Comfortable to use
A padded ergonomic harness spreads the weight between your shoulders, back, hips and upper thighs, with soft padding increasing comfort when used for long periods. This is a blower that you can rest assured is comfortable enough to use over the course of a long day. It also makes use of STIHL’s anti-vibration system, which dampens the oscillations from the machine’s engine to reduce vibrations at the handles.
Simple, straightforward operation
A multi-function control handle allows for easy thumb operation, with your hand never having to leave the handle.
Quiet yet powerful
The BR 500 benefits from STIHL’s 4-MIX engine, using revolutionary 4-stroke mixed lubrication technology. The engine runs on a fuel-oil mix just like a 2-stroke machine, offering the benefits of 4-stroke power without the compromises. You can expect fast acceleration, more power, lower noise, reduced emissions and increased fuel efficiency. The BR 500 also has a built-in sound damper, with noise reduction for the human ear measured at 59% compared to the previous model.

The BR 500 is covered for either a period of 2 years from the date of purchase by the owner when used for the designed purpose of that product by domestic users, or for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase by the owner when used for the designed purpose of that product by professional users. Having looked into other peoples reviews of the Stihl Br 500prtrol backpack before I purchased, my expectation were fully justified when my machine arrived. The price was spot on, delivery was very quick and the unit had only a few parts to put together which we basic. Used a pre mix petrol and oil and the unit started second pull.
My only negative thoughts were the harness, which I found awkward to wear and came off my shoulder ever easily and I eventually had the buy a strap to put across my chest to keep this under control. The weight is not too bad but at my age (well over 70) I managed ok.
