Extra comfort features
STIHL’s renowned ErgoStart technology is a genuine advance in easy starting. It cuts the effort needed to start the tool by half, while the starter cord requires just a third of the force to pull. A purger is also available to reduce the actual number of starting strokes necessary. In addition, the MS 181 C-BE has Quick Chain Tensioning, which means the chain can be adjusted using a thumb wheel once the sprocket cover is released, without the need for tools.
Simple operation for easy use
While the machine is easy to start and it is simple to change the chain tension, there are also other elements of the machine designed to make working with it as straightforward as possible. All of the important functions such as start, choke, throttle and stop are operated using a single lever, while special catches on the fuel and oil tanks allow for easy opening and locking without the need for tools. Anti-vibration technology significantly reduces the vibrations at the unit’s handles.
Dependable STIHL quality
The 2-MIX engine technology that powers this machine results in fuel savings and reduced exhaust emissions. A compensator in the carburettor ensures a constant fuel-air ratio and engine power, while advanced combustion technology reduces fuel consumption and results in high torque across a broad rpm range. A long-life air filtration system with pre-separation achieves perceptibly longer filter life compared with conventional systems, and the Ematic chain lubrication system reduces bar oil consumption, results in longer wear, as well as providing maximum lubrication.
