The Stihl MS181 chainsaws feature stratified charge to provide more power with low weight, up to 20% lower fuel consumption than regular two stroke engines and 70% less exhaust emissions than conventional chainsaws. Four channel technology works to further reduce consumption and maintain high torque over a broad range of rpm. A long life air filter system cleans the air before it gets to the filter, reducing the frequency that filter cleanings are required. Intense vibrations can have a lasting effect on blood vessels in the affected areas. To prevent this Stihl have designed the Stihl MS181 chainsaws with anti-vibration technology built in to significantly reduce the amount of engine oscillations that are translated into vibrations through the handle. This makes operation safer and more comfortable. A compensator keeps the fuel-air mixture in the carburettor constant to maintain steady engine power by reducing the amount of fuel flowing in when the air filter starts to become clogged. When equipped with an oilomatic chain, the ematic chain lubrication system pinpoints exactly where lubrication is needed, cutting oil consumption by up to 50% while ensuring optimum lubrication and longer wear. A side mounted chain tensioner is easily reachable through the sprocket cover and allows the user to quickly make adjustments without needing to touch the sharp chain. The Stihl MS181 chainsaws feature a single lever master control for safer and smoother operation. All of the important functions are operated via a single lever so the user's hand never needs to leave the handle during operation. Special catches on the fuel and oil tanks for easy opening and locking without the need for tools.
