Very low vibration levels are provided by dampers in the engine and a vibration absorbing chain to reduce intense vibrations to a safe level which will not have long term effects on blood vessels even when used for prolonged periods. A compensator monitors the combustion mixture to ensure it does not become to fuel rich. When the air filter becomes clogged the compensator reduces the amount of fuel delivered to the carburettor to keep the fuel to air ratio consistent. This, in turn, keeps engine power consistent until a cleaning is required. A semi-automatic decompression valve needs to be pressed in before starting to ease starting by reducing the compression pressure and the amount of force required to pull the starter cord. The valve returns to it's closed position automatically. ElastoStart works to make starting more comfortable with a rubber or elastic element in the starter handle taking the compression shock away from the user's joints and muscles. Ematic chain lubrication pinpoints exact saw links and where lubrication is required to cut down oil consumption by up to 50% while providing maximum lubrication for longer wear. Underneath the Stihl MS362 chainsaws sprocket cover is housed a side chain tensioning screw which removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain. A single lever master control operates all important functions such as start, choke, throttle and stop.
