The STIHL MS 261 C-M VW is a petrol chainsaw that not only has all of STIHL’s usual quality features but a heated carburettor and handles, ideal for cold weather.
The perfect saw for working in the cold
Heated handles on this saw provide additional comfort in cold weather and can be simply engaged using a switch on the left handle when required. As well as this, the carburettor is also heated. By changing the tool from summer to winter operation, the intake air is pre-heated over the engine fins to ensure the carburettor does not ice up and that you can keep working even in freezing temperatures.
An efficient & intelligent machine
This chainsaw benefits from STIHL’s M-Tronic engine management system, which ensures consistent engine performance, constant maximum speed and superb acceleration. It has an electronic cold/warm start recognition and means the engine starts with fewer pulls and accelerates up to speed immediately. As well as this, the MS 261 C-M VW uses the Ematic chain lubrication system, which provides maximum lubrication, longer wear and saves up to 50 per cent on oil consumption. The saw is powered by STIHL’s 2-MIX engine, which again is extremely efficient, offering up to 20 per cent less fuel consumption and up to 50 per cent fewer emissions than non-2-MIX equivalents.
Comfortable & simple operation
The chain tensioner for this model is located on the side of the machine, through the sprocket cover. This removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain. The MS 261 C-M VW also benefits from tool free filler caps, which make topping up far less hassle than ever before. STIHL’s ElastoStart technology in conjunction with a decompression valve helps to reduce the shock caused by starting and the effort it takes to pull the starter rope. An anti-vibration system also works to dampen the engine’s oscillations and so reduce vibrations at the machine’s handles.
