STIHL FSA 45 Cordless Grass Trimmer

A compact, cordless grass trimmer for maintaining lawn edges, small areas of grass, and trimming around obstacles

The FSA 45 is lightweight and easy to use strimmer for perfecting your lawn; it comes equipped with PolyCut blades that have a working width of 25 cm – with space for up to 5 spares to be conveniently stored on the tool – but they can be easily switched to 1.4/1.6 mm cut-to-length mowing line as the job demands, although this is sold separately.

A versatile machine for light garden work

As well as being capable of cutting grass edges a lawnmower cannot reach, the mowing head can also be turned on its side for vertical edge trimming such as along pathways and flower beds. A spacer bracket can be folded down as necessary to protect obstacles (flowers, fences etc.) from damage. The loop handle lends itself to working in tighter, more confined spaces, helping you to direct the strimmer exactly where it is needed.

An incredibly light weight of just 2.3 kg, and exceptionally low noise and vibrations are all advantages of this battery-powered machine, creating a more pleasant user experience. The length of the shaft and the handle can be adjusted to suit the current operator, limiting fatigue. 

Fitted with an important safety feature to prevent the unintentional turning on

An activation key (included) is required to be inserted into the unit for use, and should be removed for storage; this is an important safety feature, to prevent to unintentional turning on of the strimmer. Also when not in use, the built-in eyelet makes it easy to store the strimmer on the wall for a safe, space-saving storage solution.

Powered by the latest battery technology

The FSA 45 utilises an integrated 18 V Lithium-ion battery which features a charge level indicator visible at the push of a button, and provides up to 20 minutes of lawn edging time; the built-in battery plugs in to charge, just like you would charge a phone, with a 0-100% charge time of 210 minutes.

Top tips

1) When you have finished using the grass trimmer, remove the activation key and clean the machine using a damp cloth or a soft brush

2) Store the grass trimmer in a clean and dry area, ideally within a temperature range of 0-50ºC and with around 40-60% battery charge (2 green LED lights)

3) Place the PolyCut blades in a bucket of water 12-24 hours before use, to help make them more flexible so they are less likely to break
