A new professional lightweight cordless long-reach hedge trimmer
The HLA 66 is STIHL's newest long-reach hedge trimmer from their AP battery system, designed for commercial users to easily trim tall hedges and side and top growth. It has better balance resulting in less fatigue during operation compared to its predecessor the HLA 65, which is welcomed by professional users.
Packed full of features for a safe, comfortable, and professional performance
Featuring a 50 cm long double sided, double angled blade for a clean cut, the total length of the hedge trimmer is 205 cm making it perfect for reaching the top of the majority of tall hedges. An adjustable angle head from -45º to +70º allows for precision, and it can also be folded flat to measure 125 cm for easy transport and storage.
STIHL's energy-efficient brushless electric motor powers the HLA 66 and requires minimal maintenance as it's virtually wear-free. No matter what (compatible) battery you insert into the unit and its charge level, it'll ensure the engine is supplied with the right amount of power, resulting in a smooth running and superb end result.
The new ergonomic control handle has a self-resetting Ergo lever which is suitable for both left and right hands, and the loop handle and shaft grip boasts anti-slip protection for precision during use.
Part of STIHL's AP battery system
STIHL's AP System is a versatile battery system where one compatible battery will power a range of machines, which is especially cost-effect and convenient in terms of transport and storage for professional users.
This recommended set by STIHL contains everything you need to get started right away; the shell plus an AP 100 battery plus an AL 300 quick charger. The battery will provide around 72 minutes of trimming time before it needs recharging, where the quick charger will have it fully charged again in 30 minutes.
Optional accessories for a better cutting experience
We recommend you treat the blade with a resin solvent to keep it clear of rust and sap whilst also providing protection against corrosion, to prolong its life. An optional battery protection foot can be fitted to keep the battery off the ground during downtime and to be used as a handle for short-term shaft extension. The addition of a catcher plate is especially useful when trimming side and top growth, resulting in an easier clean-up.
