A new professional lightweight telescopic cordless long-reach hedge trimmer
The HLA 86 is STIHL's brand new telescopic long-reach hedge trimmer from their AP battery system, designed for the professional user to easily trim taller hedges and side and top growth. Compared to its predecessor the HLA 85, the HLA 86 offers better balance for less fatigue during operation which is welcomed by commercial users.
Packed full of features for a safe, comfortable, and professional performance
The total length of this hedge trimmer can be adjusted from 260 cm to 330 cm and includes a 50 cm / 20 inch double sided, double edged blade, making it ideal for reaching most tall and wide hedges. The blade has an adjustable working angle head from -45º to +70º which provides a better finish, and it can also be folded flat giving it a total length of 180 cm for simple transport and storage.
The HLA 66 features an energy-efficient brushless electric motor that's almost wear-free, meaning minimal maintenance. It also ensures the right power is outputted for the battery inserted into the machine, providing optimum power no matter what the battery charge level.
The loop handle and shaft have anti-slip protection for precise application, and the control handle is ergonomically designed with a self-resetting Ergo lever for both left and right hand users.
Part of STIHL's AP battery system
The AP Series is a versatile battery system utilising one compatible battery for a fleet of machines. The shell consists of the outer body only and does not include any batteries or a charger, so these will need to be purchased separately unless they are already owned.
The recommended battery for the HLA 66 is the AP 300 giving up to 180 minutes of working time before it'll need to be charged again.
Optional accessories for a better cutting experience
An optional catcher plate can be purchased to catch cuttings for easier clean-up which is especially beneficial when trimming side and top growth. We recommend using a resin solvent to keep the blade free from sap and rust and to protect against corrosion, to prolong its life. A battery protection foot can be fitted to the unit to keep the battery off of the ground and to be used as a handle for short-term shaft extension.
