The HTA 86 is a new telescopic long-reach pole saw from STIHL utilising their cordless AP system, and is the ideal choice for the professional user for completing tree care maintenance including clearance cutting and dead wood removal. A battery and charger are included within this recommended set.
An upgrade from the HTA 85
The updated HTA 86 offers better balance and control for increased user comfort; the square telescopic shaft prevents twisting and deflection for greater precision, and the ergonomic control handle is comfortable to use for right and left handed operators.
Trimming taller bushes has never been easier
The pruning saw has a telescopic shaft adjustable from 270 cm - 390 cm that's capable of reaching branches up to 5 metres high. Its 30 cm bar and 1.4 PM3 chain is able to cut branches between 8 cm - 12 cm in diameter.

Compared to a fuel or electric powered unit, this battery-powered machine runs quietly and doesn't produce any harmful emissions. This makes it suitable for use at any time of the day without disturbing nearby residents and with no operator ear protection required. Its rainproof coating makes it appropriate to use year-round (although it's not recommended for use in extreme conditions).
Other beneficial features include: an anti-slip handle and a robust branch hook for precision and durability; a see-through oil tank with a tool-free cap which makes for easy maintenance; a premium brushless EC motor ensures fast acceleration and consistent output for excellent performance, as well as being virtually maintenance free.
Part of STIHL's flexible AP battery system
STIHL's cordless AP series gives the freedom to use any compatible battery and charger. However, the STIHL recommended set includes the AP 200 battery and the AL 500 quick charger for maximum performance. The battery gives to HTA 86 pole pruner up to 41 minutes working time per charge, and the quick charger will restore it to 100% in just 45 minutes (or 80% in half an hour).
