About the SHEEN X300 Flame Gun

The Sheen X300 flame gun consist of a one gallon tank (paraffin or kerosene), integral pressure pump, pressure gage, precision control valve and a burner.
Sturdy and simple to operate, the X300 surpasses the most stringent safety standards. The X300 is perfect for all weed killing operations, cultivation of cleared soil and rough ground clearance. Operates at 2000 degrees Fahrenheit which destroys weeds, spores and bacteria organically with no poison hazards for crops, soil, pets or wildlife.
A second gunning incinerates all top growth and weed seeds, leaving a potash rich residue.

I bought this product mostly as a way to generate stale seedbeds without recourse to herbicides, as hoeing is often not efficient on our wet land. From limited experience this autumn with a fair cover of annual weeds it has worked well. It also cleared small perennial weeds between paving slabs, although it remains to be seen how lasting the result will be, particularly in spring and summer growing conditions. It is robust and lit fairly easily, although there was a tendency for the flame to extinguish. But maybe this is down to technique and will improve with experience.
