The all-new STIGA Tornado 398 replaces the Tornado 2098 H
The Tornado 398 is a petrol-powered ride-on mower with a two-bladed 98 cm cutting deck, designed for large lawn areas up to 5000 m2. Part of STIGA’s Essential range, this machine has been developed for gardening newbies or those who want simple functions to achieve a certain gardening standard.
Cuttings are discharged to the side for easy mowing
As with all Tornados, the 398 is a side discharging machine which is often used for mowing orchards, paddocks, and similar areas. With the additional purchase of a mulch plug this ride-on mower will also mulch, which means finely shredded cuttings are discharged back onto the surface of the lawn. The cutting height is manually adjustable through 7 preset positions 25-80 mm.
Powered by STIGA’s own-brand engine
The Tornado 398 is powered by STIGA’s own petrol engine with a net power output of 7.5 kW @ 2800 rpm, and boasts a pedal-operated hydrostatic transmission which allows for incremental speed control without having to change gears.
Additional features make for comfortable working
Comfort features include: a screw-adjustable seat meaning you can choose a comfortable working position to suit; conventional headlights provide light in low visibility conditions; a small side storage compartment and a cup holder are handy additions.
Designed to last for years to come
A front bumper protects vital parts of the ride-on mower from accidental damage. The addition of 2 anti-scalp wheels prevent damage to the lawn especially when navigating undulating terrain. A washing link makes it easy to keep the underside of the deck clean for long-lasting continued performance.
