About the ALLETT KENSINGTON 14B Petrol Cylinder Lawn Mower
One of the best cylinder lawnmowers on the market
The Allett Kensington lawnmowers are undoubtedly one of the best petrol cylinder lawnmowers on the market today. This superbly built machine features a powerful Briggs and Stratton 127cc XR550 petrol engine and the revolutionary QX system. This ″Quick Exchange″ system allows you to not only remove the blade cassette for re-grinding or replacement purposes, but also to turn your lawnmower into a powered rake by substituting the standard six-bladed cassette with the QX Lawn Scarifier cassette accessory.
Unbeatable cutting performance, featuring the hallmark Allett stripes
The combination of advanced lawnmower technology and a number of special features give the Kensington an unbeatable cutting performance. For longer grass, you can attach the supplied side wheels which then elevate the mower to provide an effortless cut. The spring tine comb also lifts the grass prior to cutting to ensure an even cut, and a stainless steel front roller and heavy steel rear roller produce those beautiful, classic stripes that are the hallmark of an Allett lawn.
Warranty
A 1 year domestic warranty with Allett is included; we will register the machine upon delivery. T&Cs apply.

I have had one of these machines for many years. It is a good mower but the exchangeable cartridges are less successful. Changing the cassettes requires the removal of at least six screws before a cassette can be removed and then it takes two strong men to remove it. Inserting the new cassette is easier, but you still have the screws to replace. `A more fundamental problem is that most of the cassettes are designed to lift the grass up, but the roller promptly flattens it again before it can be cut. My advice would be to be a dedicated machine to take the maintenance reels.
