About the HAYTER HARRIER 41 VS Battery Lawnmower (377A) (Shell Only)
A green lawnmower for management of small lawns
A new addition for 2021 to Hayter’s Green Series of battery-operated lawnmowers, the 347A model has a 41 cm cutting width capable of mowing small domestic lawns up to 300m2/approximately the size of one tennis court. A compatible battery and charger are required, but sold separately; we recommend the 6.0Ah battery and 60 V charger for optimum performance. Hayter proudly design and make their products here in Britain.
Easy operation for a desired finish
Its self propulsion makes it easy to manoeuvre the lawnmower between speeds of 1.0 – 3.3 mph; effort is only required by the user to guide the machine around the lawn which is great for those who struggle with a push unit. The cutting height can be easily adjusted with a single lever through 7 preset positions from 13 – 60 mm to suit. An integrated rear roller achieves sought-after lawn stripes, whilst its unique design prevents marking whilst changing direction. Similarly, the Trim Side design feature ensures mowing of all the lawn, even that close to boundaries and walls, for a uniform finish.
Collect grass clippings and unwanted leaves
Grass clippings are collected in the fabric grass collector bag, which can be lifted through the handlebars to empty to limit the bending required by the user. Hayter’s Vari-PitchTM system ensures efficient collection by automatically adjusting the deck to increase the air flow when cutting longer grass, and vice versa. By setting the cutting height above the height of the grass, the Harrier 41 will also pick up unwanted leaves from the surface of the lawn.
The advantages of cordless technology
Being battery-powered, it operates much quieter, releases zero emissions, and has no restrictions from a cable compared to a non-cordless machine; this gives the freedom for use at any time, any where. Power Boost technology ensures you get the maximum run time out of the battery, no matter the mowing conditions.
Additional features take it up a level
When ready to store away, the handlebars fold down offering a space-saving solution. A hose connector allows for attachment of a hose to easily clean the underside of the lawnmower, which ensures continued performance. The aluminium deck is durable and long-lasting, and is even backed by Hayter’s lifetime warranty*.
A 5 year domestic warranty with Hayter is included, we will register the machine upon delivery. T&Cs may apply.
*T&Cs apply, domestic use only, annual service required.

This is an expensive lawnmower, so I did a lot of research but found it difficult to get helpful information online. The Hayter website is average in terms of the information it provides, not as good as some other brands out there. Having used the mower twice now, here are my initial thoughts. Very well built mower, high quality. A lot bigger than I thought it would be (very long unit with the basket attached) which makes manoeuvrability difficult. It is a heavy machine, even though battery operated, and I would recommend getting the Variable Speed model over the Push model for this reason – even though my garden is flat, it makes the job much easier. My garden is about 300sq metres, and in hind sight, this mower is probably too big for that, even though it is recommended for that size, but it is very good quality. Its size makes it difficult to push around bushes/shrubs and plants with low-hanging branches, and it is cumbersome to mow up to the edge of the lawn if there’s a wall there, and you have to turn the mower around on its roller. The stripes are great and I’ve had some compliments on them already, although they are not as pronounced as I imagined they would be – this was one of the main reasons I chose this model. The handlebar folds down for more compact storage, but the cables do get in the way and the red acceleration lever clips the side of the mower when folding up. The grass basket fills up very quickly – I have to empty it 3-4 times. I chose the largest battery from Toro (7.5mah) and I’m glad I did, even though its expensive. I also bought the Strimmer from Toro so I can use the same battery. Overall – I give it 5 stars, as it is a high quality product and does a very good job, even if too big for my lawn.
