Weighing just 3 kg, the 230 – 240 v STIHL BGE 71 Electric Leaf Blower is fitted with an efficient 1,100 w motor and supplied with a flat nozzle. It has an impressive maximum blowing force of 9 N, which is enough to shift stubborn leaves. (The maximum air velocity with the flat nozzle is 70 m/s.)
This handheld leaf blower is a very effective tool, suitable for use on footpaths, lawns, flowerbeds, and other areas of a garden. And with a sound power level of 100 dB(A) and sound pressure level at the operator’s ear of 85 dB(A), it is quiet when operating too. This makes the STIHL 71 Blower ideal for use in residential (and other noise sensitive) areas.

A lightweight garden blower with plenty of power. The electrical cord is a good length but a short extension lead means I can do the whole garden easily. I blows away the leaves with ease and clears the grass of small stones and small gits of grit without any difficulty. Easy to handle and great for the person who is willing to do their own bit of gardening. It is also great for blowing away the surface water after heavy rain if I cant wait for the patio to dry on its own.

A great little machine. The only downside is that it’s corded. That’s fine for me, I don’t mind that at all for where I’m using it. It’s fairly lightweight and has lots of puff! I haven’t bought the collector bag accessory, I think that would fill very rapidly. At around half the price or less of an equivalent cordless Stihl machine, it gets a solid 5 stars from me.
