Giving you the ability to tackle a wide range of garden cleaning tasks, the SHE 71 offers the quiet operation and light weight you would expect of an electric machine, along with excellent performance.
Manoeuvrable & comfortable to operate
As an electric machine, the SHE 71 is lightweight compared to petrol alternatives. It weighs just 4.1 kg excluding the power cable, allowing you to work for longer without getting tired, as well as simply making it more enjoyable to use. Another key advantage of electric machinery is the quiet operating noise, which again makes the machine a pleasure to work with and gives it even more versatility, making it suitable for a wider range of applications.
An adaptable & versatile machine
The chief advantage of the SHE 71 is its adaptability, being able to easily convert from a blower into a vacuum shredder. Simply attach the Vac-Kit and the integrated turbo wheel shreds dry leaves to one-twelfth of their original volume, while the 45 litre catcher bag serves as an effective dust filter. You can empty it with ease, using the bottom zip. While working in this mode, you can tackle debris in even the smallest cracks to leave a flawless finish to your garden.
Easy & simple to work with
Other advantages of working with electric machinery are the lack of petrol fumes, expensive maintenance costs and complicated start-up procedures. With the SHE 71, you don’t have to worry about any of that, and can simply work with the tool as and when you need it. An integrated cable strain relief system prevents the power cable from becoming accidentally disconnected while you work, making it perfect for use as an all-round home garden tool.

I am unable to give a full review of this machine since I am now unable to get it to start. It spent the first few weeks with the supplier because I could not disengage the blower system from the main part of the machine. That was eventually achieved but when I put the blower tube back again the machine will not start. If anyone has any tips I’d be pleased to have them.

There are safety switches on both blow and suction nozzles, and if the tubes are not fully inserted and locked in then it wont work.

When it is put together very easy to use once you get a feel for the bag straps, good suction and easy to clean.

Brilliant at vacuuming up all the leaves in the garden but can’t seem to get the vacuum attachment off again to turn it into in a blower, even using the instructions! Putting the attachments on is not easy!

Excellent at collecting ad shredding leaves. Fiddly to reconfigure to a blower. I have a separate Stihl blower.. This my second vacuum.The First replaced after11years and only then because the fan was worn and it was cost effective to replace rather than repair.

A refreshingly lightweight machine, when compared to petrol machines.
This certainly has a lot of puff when it comes to blowing and a lot of suck when it comes to vacuuming and shredding.
Getting the various nozzles, pipes, etc on and off requires ideally three hands or some practice as they require you to release a clip whilst turning at the same time.
The only small downside is that the impeller which is what shreds material is plastic and so is suseptable to damage from solid material like stones. But knowing that means you know what to avoid. Fortunately, Steffan at the excellent Customer Support Team at Garden Machinery Direct came to my aid and sorted an issue I had with the impeller.
Apart from that a really well-enginnered machine that works a treat.

Replaced an old Black & Decker unit that gave up the ghost after many years service. This is lighter and more powerful both in terms of blowing and vacuuming. Changing function is somewhat fiddly but once done a couple of times is easy to get to grips with and just a shame that you need a small screwdriver or the like to depress a plastic lug.

It is well worth the money spent, I must admit that seeing the plastic fan, I thought it might not be as good as I thought, however my thoughts were unfounded all the leaves that I picked up had been chopped up ready to put into the composter, just what I wanted.
It is well worth sitting and reading the instruction book before using to get the best out of the the machine (something I confess I don’t always do)

The blower works better than the vac in my view. The collector bag is not easy to keep on your shoulder as suggested in the instructions. It tends to slip off and then it drags on the ground. It does, however, pick up very well!

Difficult and unwieldy for a smaller person to use. Awkward mechanism for swapping functions, should be easier. Blows very powerfully , but doesn’t vacuum with equal power. Seems sturdy though and will probably last for ages.

Briefly tried it out, seems well constructed and solid, plenty of power, and plenty of mains cable for a small garden. Could do with a button rather than a hole to poke the security latch when removing/replacing the tubes, so only 4 stars otherwise it would have been 5 stars

It is a big, solid piece of machinery. It was quite fiddly to put the different parts together but the instructions were clear enough and once assembled it worked really well.

This blower was very effective, but recommend ear protectors if using for more than a few minutes.One has to change the blower pipe for a suction pipe but once done unit operates OK. The collection bag is a bit clumsy to hold on shoulder. I only use the suction for leaves on flower beds. For large quantities, use the blower and lift leaves by hand.
