A manoeuvrable, enjoyable saw to work with, even in frozen conditions.
Thanks to heated handles and an exceptional power to weight ratio, STIHL's MS 462 C-M VW is a brilliant saw to operate.
Unparalleled performance
With its 2-MIX, 1-in-4 channel engine technology, the MS 462 enjoys high torque over a wide rpm range, saving up to 20 percent on fuel when compared to a regular STIHL two-stroke engine in the same class, while also cutting exhaust emissions by up to 50 percent.
With the M-Tronic electronic engine management technology also on board, ignition timing and fuel metering is adjusted automatically to take into account external conditions, providing maximum speed, great acceleration and meaning only one start position is required.
The quality build you would expect from STIHL
The lightest 70cc high-performance chainsaw from STIHL, the MS 462 C-M VW still doesn't compromise on its build quality. They have made it a simple task to make adjustments to the machine, courtesy of a side chain tensioner (ensuring you don't have to touch the sharp saw chain) and a new oil pump system that delivers more oil, perfect for use in dusty conditions.
A new HD2 air filter uses a radial filter that prevents fine dust particles entering the machine for better service life and wear.
A brilliant model to handle, even in the freezing cold
With its heated handles and carburettor, you will find this chainsaw a pleasure to operate and easy to start, whatever the weather. Markings are in place on the fan housing to help perform safe plunge cuts, while the tooth length of the bumper spikes has been adjusted to benefit the way the saw bites into the wood. Anti-vibration technology means you can work for longer without fatigue, and a decompression valve reduces the compression pressure during starting, as well as the amount of effort needed to pull the starter rope.
Tool-free filler caps make topping up simple, and captive nuts makes it easier to change the cutting attachment.
