Delivery update 27/03/20
We thank you for your recent order with Garden Machinery Direct.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, over the past few days we have seen an exceptional unprecedented volume of orders, and unavoidably there will be a delay in you receiving your order.
All outstanding orders will be dispatched within the next 2-3 working days and you will receive an email when this has been confirmed, so you know when to expect delivery.
We ask that customers bear with us and instead of telephoning, please email us with any concerns and we will get back to you as soon as we can, as our limited staff are being slowed down by the volume of calls.
Rest assured we are still open and we are working as hard as we can to turn orders around as soon as possible. Your support and patience is much appreciated.

Free Delivery: Orders over £150 will be delivered free of charge.*
For orders over £150, call us and order before 1.30pm and your items will be delivered the next working day, subject to stock (heavier items are loaded onto a pallet and may take 2-3 working days).
Some smaller items are also eligible for free delivery. This is marked on the product page and only applies to items ordered individually. To UK mainland only. Scottish Highlands and some remote postcodes incur an additional charge. Items under £150 that are ordered with free delivery will usually be sent using Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For, or an equivalent 2-3 day service. If you require a "Free Delivery" item under £150 more urgently, please select a different delivery method at checkout or contact us for advice.)
We work with a number of delivery carriers due to the wide variety of item sizes and weights that we sell. For items under 30 kg and less than 1 metre in length, you will often be able to choose our Standard Next Day delivery service (usually sent with TNT or FedEx), or our Premium DPD service, which gives you a 1 hour predicted delivery time slot (small items under £150 and ordered with free delivery will be sent on a 2-3 day service).
For orders over 1 metre or 30 kg, we will use FedEx, TNT or Tooles Transport (a pallet service). If you have ordered multiple items that need to be sent as separate parcels, we will sometimes need to use a different service to the one specified at checkout. This also applies if you live in a remote area - we may use a different carrier to get the delivery to you. If in doubt, please contact us to confirm the delivery carrier.
Some products, in particular certain brands of chainsaw or bladed-tools, cannot be shipped, so must be collected in store. These items are marked with a Collection Only image and will inform you of this also at the Basket section.
Some products can be ordered with Saturday or Sunday deliveries at a charge of £18. This only applies to items currently in stock (please contact us to confirm this before ordering if your item is urgent), and when the order is placed before midday on the Friday before the weekend in question. Note that if you are ordering multiple items we may not be able to ship these for a weekend delivery due to size and weight restrictions, so we would again advise you contact us before ordering in these cases. Please select this delivery method at the checkout to add the surcharge to your order.
We can organise Saturday, Sunday or next day timed delivery on other items too - please contact us for further details and rates.
A minimum delivery charge of £5.50 applies to all orders under £150.
Leaving items in a safe place
Our delivery carriers are usually willing to leave items in a safe place if you are out. Please use the Comments box when ordering to specify a location, but note that we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to items as a result of being left unattended based on your instructions.
All the machinery we sell is brand new (unless specifically indicated), and have been tested by the manufacturer's trained technicians. This means there may be traces of oil or fuel, and very minor signs of use on your machine, and it may not be in its original box. Items are often also repackaged to ensure safe delivery and also to be enviromentally friendly! If you have any concerns about this, please do contact us.
