This fabulous combi tool will effortlessly blow your leaves, hedge cuttings and other garden debris into neat piles, before sucking and shredding them up. This dramatically reduced garden waste can then be transferred straight from collection bag to garden waste bin or used as compost and mulch.

Overview of the STIHL SHA 56

Designed for domestic use, the STIHL SHA 56 Cordless Vacuum Shredder and Blower weighs 3.2kg (without the battery) and comes with a 40-litre collection bag. It has a maximum blowing force of 8 N, air speed of 56 m/s, and sound power level of 94 dB(A).

Light in weight, yet still powerful, the SHA56 also features variable speed control, so you can adjust the blowing and suction power to match your exact requirements.

Converting from Blower to Shredder

The cordless SHA 56 can be changed from blower to shredder mode in no time at all, using a simple ‘click and twist’ mechanism. There’s no need for tools, simply click the appropriate tube into place, rotate the handle, and you’re good to go.

An Adjustable Blower Tube

You can easily adjust the length of the SHA56’s blower tube to suit your height, ensuring that you’re always working comfortably. This also optimises the machine’s performance because it means it will always be operating exactly the right distance from the ground.

The SHA 56’s Metal Shredder Blade

Thanks to a strong, sharp metal blade, the STIHL SHA56 makes very short work of shredding leaves and hedge clippings. This metal blade is easy to access when you need to clean it.

An Ergonomically Designed Vacuum Shredder

Once again with your comfort in mind, the SHA56 features an ergonomically designed handle and padded shoulder strap, which is easy to adjust for the perfect fit.

The 40-litre collection bag is designed with a long zip cord, making it exceptionally simple to open and empty.

The Battery and Charger

This cordless vacuum shredder and blower is supplied with an AK 20 battery and AL 101 charger.

On a full charge, the battery has a working time of up to 25 minutes, which is enough to clear 75 m² of ground in suction mode or 600 m² in blowing mode.

Using the AL 101 charger, this battery takes 180 minutes to fully charge, reaching an 80% charge in only 135 minutes.

STIHL SHA 56 Top Tips

1) When you’ve finished using the SHA 56, remove the battery, and clean the shell using a damp cloth or a soft brush. Store the SHA 56 in a clean and dry area, and out of the reach of children.

2) Clearing wet leaves requires more effort and power compared to dry leaves, leading to a longer time to clean a smaller area. For efficiency and to extend your battery’s life, it’s advisable to wait for a dry day to tidy your garden.

3) Rather than scattering leaves across the garden with the SHA 56 set to blower mode, direct them into a corner to keep them contained. This strategy simplifies the process of vacuuming them up when switching the SHA 56 to suction mode.
