STIHL MS 231 Petrol Chainsaw

Efficient 2-MIX engine

This model uses STIHL’s 2-MIX engine technology, which allows emissions to be cut by up to 70 percent, and fuel consumption by up to 20 percent, when compared to STIHL 2-stroke engines of the same power but without 2-MIX technology. A compensator in the carburettor ensures the fuel/air ratio and engine power remains constant even as the air filter becomes clogged – you don’t need to clean the filter until a noticeable drop in power occurs.

Comfortable operation

You can rely on the anti-vibration system in this machine to significantly reduce the vibrations at the handles. This helps to protect you against the harmful effects intense vibrations can have on the blood vessels in your hands and arms. The MS 231 also has all of its important operating controls located on a single lever, so start, choke, throttle and stop are all close at hand.

Simple to use

Special catches are used on the oil and fuel caps to make them easy to open and lock, but most importantly allow you to do so without using tools. The chain tensioner is positioned on the side of the machine, through the sprocket cover, which means you don’t need to touch the sharp saw chain to access it. STIHL have also chosen to use a long-life air filtration system in the MS 231, which pre-separates larger, heavier particles to prolong the life of the air filter.
