About the HONDA FG205 Petrol Mini Tiller
Honda FG205 Petrol Mini Tiller: Simple Soil Cultivation on Small to Medium Plots
Preparing soil can be demanding, especially when space is limited and accuracy matters. The FG205 Honda mini tiller is designed to make cultivation easier on small to medium-sized plots, where control and reliability are essential. It is especially effective for loosening soil between planted rows and keeping growing areas free from weeds.
This compact machine brings the trusted engineering of larger Honda tillers into a practical size for everyday garden use. While easy to manoeuvre, it delivers the strength needed for consistent soil preparation. So, if you’re searching for a capable Honda rotavator that balances power with comfortable handling, the FG205 makes an excellent choice.
Compact Strength for Everyday Cultivation
The Honda FG205 is built with the same care and precision found across the wider Honda rotavator range. Its solid construction allows it to handle regular use without ever feeling heavy or awkward. This makes it suitable for gardeners who want professional build quality in a machine sized for domestic plots.
Whether working in vegetable beds or along borders, the FG205 maintains steady performance. Its design allows accurate control in tighter spaces, helping you cultivate soil close to plants without unnecessary disturbance.
Reliable Honda Engine Performance
Power comes from a proven engine that delivers smooth and consistent output. The FG205 uses a 4-stroke OHC GXV50 Honda engine, with a displacement of 49cm3. It has a maximum power output of 1.3kW at 4,800rpm, which equals 1.7hp. This engine is recognised for reliability, low vibrations, and efficient fuel consumption.
Starting is straightforward thanks to the recoil system, while an automatic centrifugal clutch ensures gentle engagement as revs rise. The fuel tank capacity of 0.35 litres suits lighter cultivation tasks and helps keep overall weight manageable. With sound levels measured at 79.5dB(A) at the user’s ear, the machine remains comfortable to operate during extended periods of use.
Strong Transmission and Safe, Effective Tilling
The Honda FG205 mini tiller uses a single forward speed transmission with worm gear drive. This setup delivers higher torque than the screw gear systems often found on similar machines. As a result, the tiller works steadily through compacted or heavier soil without losing momentum.
Four robust 4-tooth shredder tines dig and cultivate at the same time. They break soil down efficiently, improving structure and aeration while preparing ground for planting. Crop protection side discs allow you to work close to plants without damaging them.
With a working width of up to 450mm (18 inches) and a maximum depth of 260mm (10 inches), this mini petrol tiller covers ground efficiently while remaining easy to control. This makes it a practical choice for maintaining vegetable patches and garden borders.
Designed for Easy Handling and Storage
The Honda FG205 mini tiller is easily manageable in day-to-day use. With a dry weight of 24kg, it can be moved and positioned without excessive effort. Rear transport wheels help when moving across paths or hard surfaces, while the central carrying handle adds convenience when lifting.
A foldable handle allows the machine to be stored neatly when not in use. Measuring 1,155mm (L) x 510mm (W) x 1,035mm (H), it fits comfortably into sheds and garages where space may be limited. This thoughtful design ensures the tiller remains practical beyond its work in your garden beds.
Built for Longevity with Honda Warranty
Honda equipment is made to last, and the FG205 Petrol Mini Tiller is no exception. It is supplied with an outstanding five-year warranty for domestic use or a one-year warranty for professional applications. This cover includes both parts and labour and maintains full value throughout the warranty period.
This level of protection reflects Honda’s confidence in the FG205 mini tiller’s quality and durability, offering reassurance from the first season of use onwards.
Practical Power for Growing Spaces
The Honda FG205 Mini Tiller is perfect for gardeners working on small to medium-sized plots. With its reliable engine, strong transmission, and protective side discs, it makes soil preparation more efficient and less disruptive. If you’re looking for a compact Honda tiller that delivers dependable results without complication, the FG205 is our recommended choice. Buy yours today and enjoy smoother cultivation courtesy of trusted Honda performance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q; Is the Honda FG205 suitable for working between planted rows?
Yes, this Honda rotavator is ideal for inter-row cultivation. Its controlled width and crop protection discs allow accurate work close to established plants.

Maintain Your Honda Products Properly
To keep your Honda petrol machinery running at its best, use standard pump fuels such as SP95, SP98, or SP95-E10.
While Honda doesn’t supply alkylate fuel, its use is permitted.
It’s important to always add a fuel stabiliser, especially if you’re storing fuel for more than a few weeks, as this helps prevent engine issues and keeps the fuel fresh.
Fuel should be stored in small amounts (no more than 5 litres) in a sealed container, away from heat and sunlight. Use within one month unless treated with a stabiliser.
At the end of the season—or if the machine won’t be used for a while—it’s recommended to drain the fuel tank and follow the storage advice in the user manual.

customer –
This is a solidly engineered tiller. I used it to prepare a section of grassland for replanting which it handled easily despite the ground being baked hard. It starts easily and is quiet compared to other machines.
Guest –
Regrettably still in its box due to lockdown enforcement, hopefully I will survive to use it A.W.S.
Elizabeth Gurney –
Easy start turns ground over to a fine tilth, not too heavy for older people to use, recommend to anyone
Jacqui Arnold –
Only used once but so far so good. May update to five once we’re sure of it
Mrs JILL TAYLOR –
Haven’t used as yet so can’t rate performance
CustomerTony Tonnison –
It arrived on time and it is a great little machine. One issue I had was when I unpacked it I noticed the paint was scratched off around one hole. When I bolted it up the scratched hole was cross threaded. Was supposed to have been assembled and tested. I didn’t expect a Honda product to have issues like that. This machine is not cheap. The bolt in question is still cross threaded and hasn’t tightened up.One star off for Honda letting it leave the factory like that and another for direct machinery for testing it and letting it pass.
