FAQs

Which jobs can I tackle with two-wheel tractor attachments?

A key advantage of a two-wheel tractor is the variety of work it can perform when paired with the correct implement. Depending on your power unit, you can choose two-wheel tractor attachments for cultivating soil, rotavating, mowing grass, clearing dense vegetation and preparing ground for planting. Accessories such as transport wheels and wheel spacers are also available for compatible machines. This flexibility makes a walk-behind tractor useful throughout the year rather than for one seasonal job.

Will every BCS attachment fit my BCS two-wheel tractor?

No. You shouldn't assume that an implement will fit simply because both products carry the BCS name. BCS attachments are designed around particular power units and configurations, with compatibility sometimes varying according to the tractor model, implement and working width. Before ordering a BCS two-wheel tractor attachment, check the product specifications against your exact machine. If you're still uncertain, the Garden Machinery Direct team can help you identify a suitable combination.

Which two-wheel tractor implement should I choose for cultivating ground?

Start by considering the condition of the soil and the finish you need. A rotavator attachment for a two-wheel tractor is a popular choice for breaking up and cultivating ground before planting. For maintaining previously worked soil or controlling weeds between rows, a tined cultivator may be more appropriate. A stone burier offers a different solution for more intensive ground preparation, working the soil while burying stones and surface debris beneath it. This can produce a cleaner, more level finish when preparing suitable areas for seeding or laying turf.

Should I use a scythe mower or flail mower attachment for overgrown grass?

This largely depends on what you're cutting. A scythe mower attachment is particularly useful for tackling long grass and meadow-type vegetation, making it a good option where you want to cut growth rather than finely mulch it. A flail mower attachment is better suited to heavier vegetation and rougher, overgrown areas, as its cutting action chops and mulches material as you work. We offer these types of implements for selected BCS and AL-KO machines, providing alternatives for areas that aren't suited to conventional lawnmowers.

What should I consider when choosing an attachment for my two-wheel tractor?

Before buying a two-wheel tractor attachment, consider the job you need to complete, the conditions you'll be working in and compatibility with your power unit. Working width is also important, as a wider implement may increase productivity in open areas, while a narrower option can provide greater manoeuvrability in confined spaces. You should also consider how frequently you'll change implements and whether compatible accessories, such as a quick-coupling system, would be useful.
