This is my second one. My last one lasted about 10 years before the orange base literally wore so thin it started cracking around the edges, from lots and lots of use in a big garden, the Honda engine was still strong as an ox, always started well and never used any oil between annual services (oil, air filter and plug). I tried to replace the base but for various reasons (cost being one) it made more sense to just buy a direct replacement. These are great mowers, powerful, versatile and they chomp through grass, long, short, wet, dry doesn’t seem to really matter. They do spray the grass clippings everywhere so it’s quite a messy mower BUT that aside it does a great job. It’s fairly easy to swing about when running but it’s no featherweight like an electric hover would be. I always run my mowers on super unleaded E5 petrol by the way, no starting or running issues ever. To summarize. It’s a bit of a brute.
