About the STIHL AP 300 S Battery
The AP 300 S is a Lithium-ion battery that will power any tool from STIHL’s professional AP System that has a battery slot, or those with a socket in conjunction with the AP holster including connecting cable, the battery belt with harness, or the AP carrying system.
It has a 4-LED charge-level indicator, splash-proofing meaning it can be exposed to the rain, and a Bluetooth interface to allow for integration with STIHL Connected, STIHL’s smart way of collecting data from your equipment.

The AP 300 S is the recommended battery (for optimum performance) for the following machines: MSA 160 C-B, MSA 200 C-B, MSA 220 C-B, MSA 200 T/TC-O, FSA 90 R, FSA 90, FSA 135 R, FSA 130, FSA 135, RGA 140, BGA 86, HTA 135, KMA 130 R, KMA 135 R, TSA 230, RMA 448 VC, and RMA 2 RV.
It is not recommended for the MSA 300.

Second battery purchase, missed out on the free giveaway battery early this year which was a bummer.
Looking at getting another when I have the funds, time will tell how long they last as I’m new to the battery powered garden equipment, switching over slowly from petrol. But I do like the ease of use, pick it up and go, no pulling starter cords and swearing at the machine, no noise, there are advantages.
Always in the back of your mind though is run time.
So you do need a collection of these batteries and I will always carry my petrol units as backup.

The AP 300 S battery is superb. Although takes about twice along to recharge than the standard AP 300, it lasts about twice as long powering my Stihl 220 chainsaw. This means I can work all day without having to find a power point for the charger. As I often work in remote places as a hedge layer, this 300 S battery was worth the money. I understand that the AP 500 is even better than the 300 S, but I think the price difference between the two batteries means the 300 S is better value.
