The STIHL FSA 60 R Cordless Grass Trimmer is designed for homeowners maintaining medium-sized and larger gardens with ease. It handles trimming, edging, mowing and general grass cutting with impressive efficiency. As a tool-only model, it requires a compatible STIHL AK System battery and charger, available separately.
Its quiet cordless operation allows work to continue without creating unnecessary disturbance for neighbours. The trimmer is ideal for residential gardens where lower noise levels are appreciated. Combined with excellent balance and lightweight handling, it delivers comfortable performance throughout longer gardening sessions.
Consistent Power for Reliable Cutting
The brushless EC motor provides dependable cutting performance while delivering excellent energy efficiency and long service life. Thanks to STIHL CONSTANT POWER technology, cutting performance remains consistent throughout the battery charge. Unlike many cordless tools, power does not noticeably reduce as battery capacity decreases.
The control handle offers two selectable speed settings to match different gardening tasks. ECO mode reduces energy consumption during lighter trimming, extending battery runtime wherever possible. Full power mode provides additional cutting performance for tackling thicker grass and more demanding areas.
Quick and Simple Mowing Head Changes
The Rapid Click System makes removing and refitting the mowing head exceptionally quick and convenient. Pressing a single button releases the AutoCut C 12-2 mowing head, making maintenance significantly easier. Once complete, the head simply clicks securely back into position without requiring additional tools.
Rewinding line is equally straightforward thanks to the large orange winding disc. Fresh mowing line can be loaded quickly either while fitted or after removing the head. The trimmer is also compatible with the PolyCut 11-2 mowing head, providing additional versatility for different cutting conditions.
Comfortable Handling Throughout the Garden
The adjustable loop handle can be positioned quickly to suit different operators and working conditions. This improves ergonomics while making trimming around trees, slopes and garden features much easier. Comfortable handling encourages more accurate cutting while reducing unnecessary strain.
A soft-grip control handle provides a secure hold while absorbing some operating vibrations. Integrated controls allow simple operation without changing hand position during use. Excellent balance with the recommended AK 20 battery further improves comfort throughout extended trimming sessions.
Smart Features for Easy Ownership
The STIHL FSA 60 R is compatible with the STIHL Smart Connector, allowing integration with the STIHL connected system. Once connected, operating hours are automatically recorded and transferred to the STIHL connected App using Bluetooth. Maintenance schedules remain easy to monitor, helping ensure the trimmer is always ready for work.
When powered by the recommended AK 20 battery, the trimmer provides up to 55 minutes of runtime using the AutoCut head. With the PolyCut mowing head, runtime extends to 110 minutes under suitable conditions. This flexibility allows users to choose the cutting system best suited to each gardening task.

Bought as a replacement for our previous petrol strimmer. Had recently purchased the AK20 battery for the Stihl garden tools system. We have petrol Stihl chainsaws, pressure washers, petrol hedge cutters etc. for our business – despite adjusting the handle position, this machine gives Left forearm fatigue and left us with muscle shakes in both arms after using for 15 minutes – we both use the gym daily and are not wimps but we both experienced the same problem with the ergonomics/unbalanced design of this machine – if someone was hoping to use this as a lightweight machine to tidy a domestic garden – no chance, I would not recommend this.

Little expensive but a good product, not sure date of manufacture but had to change strummer line before second use as it would not feed, after replacement it operates as it should. Does great job on lawn edge.
