A blade scabbard protects the hedge trimmers blades and you from harm when the hedge trimmer is not in use.

After my Bosch corded hedge trimmer died, I decided to go for a battery powered hedge trimmer; Dragging extension leads around, plus the risk of cutting through the lead made that an easy decision. Since corded tools are in general more powerful than their battery powered brothers, looking for a 36V system made sense. I own both Stihl tools with the AK battery system and the AP system. So the choice was between the HSA 60 and the HSA 100. I choose the HSA 60 because it is lighter. With the AK 30 battery (I got) it will run for 2 1/2 hours. Given that it cuts really fast, I spend probably double that time picking the cutting up. Hence for all intends and purposes it will last all day. The cutting length is 60cm. The Bosch is 70 cm. I have not really noticed a difference. I guess weight considerations made Stihl limit the length to 60 cm. (The Bosch weighs 4.2 kg, the Stihl 4.75 kg with the AK 30 battery). There is a feature to turn the handle by 90 degrees. I have not used it, being used to my Bosch. I am really happy with this tool.
