You may use any existing AK battery and charger you already have at home, or purchase the appropriate combination for your requirements. STIHL recommend the AK 20 battery for optimum performance.

Easy to assemble.
Great lightweight mower, especially for a lady to use.
Not a large garden & the battery is still on four bars when job finished.
Only downfall & issue I have is it doesn’t cut the grass quite low enough for me on number 1.

The STIHL 235 cordless lawnmower is an excellent choice for those with small to medium sized lawns of irregular shape. It is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre into those small difficult areas and gives a nice close cut on the lowest height setting. The height is easily adjusted for those uneven areas. A grass collection box with convenient hinged opening for easy emptying is another great feature.
Assembly instructions are clear and comprehensive and, after use, the mower handle is easily folded down for easy storage.
The manufacturer recommends the AK20 battery. However, I already own two lower capacity AK10 batteries – purchased with a STIHL hedge trimmer – and have found these to be perfectly sufficient for my small garden of 150 / 200 m².
This is my first experience of a battery powered mower and I would highly recommend it to anyone with a small, irregular shaped garden.
