Overview of the STIHL HLA 66 Cordless Long-Reach Hedge Trimmer

The 36 v STIHL HLA 66 Cordless Long Reach Hedge Trimmer is fitted with a 500 mm cutting blade, with 33 mm tooth spacing. Part of STIHL’s AP System, it has a maximum power output of 0.29 kW (0.39 hp).

Weighing 3.8 kg (without the battery), this long-reach hedge trimmer’s total length (with blade) is 2,050 mm. It has a sound power level of 91 dB(A), with a sound pressure level at the operator’s ear of just 83 dB(A). This makes it perfect for use in residential (and other noise sensitive) settings.

A Quick and Easy Starting System

To start the STIHL HLA 66 Hedge Trimmer, simply release the lock, press the trigger and you’re good to go. The addition of a STIHL ERGO lever allows you to work continuously without having to restart the tool, while a self-resetting locking switch prevents accidental activation.

The STIHL HLA66’s EC Motor

This long-reach hedge trimmer is fitted with a STIHL EC motor, which is highly efficient but low in weight and compact in design. Combined with the excellent balance of the tool, this allows you to work for long periods of time without getting tired.

The Double-Sided Cutting Blade

The HLA 66 Long Reach Hedge Trimmer’s double-sided blade allows you to cut vertically, horizontally and diagonally. This means you can trim and prune all areas of the hedge both comfortably and effectively.

It is designed with a tip protector too, enabling you to cut close to the ground or walls, without causing damage to the blade.

Suitable for both left- and right-handed users, the STIHL HLA 66 Cordless Long Reach Hedge Trimmer features a looped handle, making it highly manoeuvrable, even in confined spaces.

Further Ergonomic Features

For further ease of operation, the STIHL HLA 66 can be adjusted from -45 degrees to +70 degrees, without the need for tools. It also has a special eyelet, allowing you to fit a shoulder strap.

IPX4 Rated

This long-reach hedge trimmer is IPX4 certified, so is resistant to water splashing and spraying, from any direction, and can be used in wet conditions.

Simple Transportation and Storage

As the STIHL HLA 66 Long Reach Hedge Trimmer’s head can be folded flat, this reduces the length of the tool to just 1,320 mm – ideal for efficient transportation and storage.

STIHL HLA66  Top Tips

1) When you have finished using the hedge trimmer, remove the battery and clean the machine using a soft damp cloth. Spraying a resin solvent onto the blades will help to keep them from sticking together.

2) Never use a damp or wet battery, and avoid using it in extreme temperatures.

3) Store the hedge trimmer in a clean and dry area, away from children, and keep the battery within a temperature range of 0-50ºC and with around 40-60% battery charge (2 green LED lights).
