About the STIHL PolyCut Plastic Blades
STIHL PolyCut Replacement Plastic Blades: Clean Cutting Performance for Compatible Mowing Heads
STIHL PolyCut Replacement Plastic Blades are designed to keep compatible PolyCut mowing heads cutting cleanly and efficiently. Whether your existing blades have reached their wear limit or you simply want to keep a spare set ready, these genuine STIHL replacement blades provide a quick and convenient way to restore performance without replacing the complete mowing head.
Available in four different variants, the blades are suitable for a wide selection of STIHL PolyCut mowing heads. They are ideal for cutting through dense grass while maintaining a clean cutting pattern, making them a dependable choice for lawn care, general garden maintenance, and professional landscaping work.
Maintain Clean, Efficient Cutting
Worn or damaged blades can reduce the cutting performance of a mowing head and leave grass looking uneven. Replacing them with the correct STIHL PolyCut blades helps your equipment continue cutting effectively.
These polymer blades are designed for use with specific STIHL PolyCut mowing heads. When fitted correctly, they provide a practical alternative to traditional mowing line for tackling grass and other suitable vegetation. Their straightforward design makes them equally useful for domestic gardeners and professional users who want to keep interruptions to a minimum.
Clear STOP Mark Shows When to Replace Each Blade
Each replacement blade features a clearly visible STOP mark that indicates its wear limit. Once the blade has worn down to this mark, it should be removed and replaced.
This simple feature makes it much easier to monitor blade condition before starting work. By replacing worn blades at the appropriate time, you can maintain reliable cutting performance and avoid continuing to work with a blade that has reached the end of its usable life.
Quick, Tool-Free Blade Changes
STIHL has designed these PolyCut replacement blades to be changed quickly and without additional tools. The worn blade can be removed by hand and a replacement fitted in its place, helping you return to work with minimal delay.
This tool-free system is particularly useful when maintaining larger gardens or commercial grounds, where reducing downtime can make a noticeable difference to productivity. Keeping a replacement pack close at hand means fresh blades are always available when required.
Four Variants Available
The correct blades must be selected for your particular PolyCut mowing head. Compatibility and pack quantity vary between the four available options:

STIHL Professional Blade-Care Tip
To help you get the most from your replacement blades, STIHL recommends placing them in a bucket of water for 12 to 24 hours before use. Soaking the polymer helps make it more flexible and less likely to break during operation.
This simple preparation is particularly worthwhile when blades have been stored for an extended period or are being used in demanding conditions.
Genuine STIHL Replacement Parts
These replacement plastic blades have been produced specifically for compatible STIHL PolyCut mowing heads. Choosing the correct genuine STIHL accessory ensures that the blades fit the intended head and that the STOP wear indicator can be used as designed.
With tool-free fitting, clearly marked wear limits, and multiple compatibility options, they offer a straightforward way to keep your PolyCut mowing head ready for regular grass-cutting work.
Keep Your PolyCut Mowing Head Cutting Cleanly
If the blades on your STIHL PolyCut head are worn or you need a spare set for future use, these genuine replacements are the ideal choice. Simply select the correct variant for your mowing head and soak the blades before use to help improve their flexibility.

If like me you have a stihl FSA 70R strimmer, be aware that the blades recommended here for the Autocut 12-2 head are inferior to those supplied with your original product – the are about 1/2 inch shorter and do not work as well for tough work. GMD don’t tell you that. The Stihl part number for the originals is 4002 007 1000
Garden Machinery Direct –
We’re sorry to hear you’re disappointed with the blades. The blades you purchased are genuine STIHL replacement blades intended for the PolyCut 12-2 mowing head. The part number you’ve referenced (4002 007 1000) is a different STIHL part intended for the PolyCut 28-2 and 48-2 mowing heads, so it isn’t the equivalent replacement for the product you purchased. If you’re unsure which replacement parts are suitable for your machine or believe you’ve received the wrong item, please get in touch with our team and we’ll be happy to help.

Excellent items received promptly. good price
ADR –
Def the best option for clearing heavy weeds and scrub – but when used in ditches with some light brambles I went through 8 blades in around 30 meters of ditch clearance. And so they are not bullet proof but they do do a significantly better job than anything else I have used. I have purchased more and will use them again.

In my opinion better than the wire you normally get with strummers. Last quite well but not a match against stone edging but as they are plastic to be expected.
